This high-end, rustic cabin transports you to the Sierra Nevadas but is located right on the outskirts of Sacramento. The exterior was carefully designed with the homeowner to mimic the existing log cabin home on the property. The metal faux log siding was deliberately chosen to abate pests and woodpeckers, which tend to cause damage to exposed pine in that particular area. Framed with a ridge beam to allow a full cathedral vault ceiling, the grand entrance to this charming cabin is covered in knotty pine planks and knotty alder beam wrapping. The ADU is complete with an onsite septic system, hot water recirculation loop that provides hot water almost instantly at every faucet, and conventional AC system with floor mounted registers built into engineered European white oak. Planning for aging in place, the ADU has an ADA compliant wheelchair ramp and the master bathroom incorporates a zero profile roll-in shower. Both bathrooms and kitchen backsplash feature herringbone tile design and quartz countertops. The cherry on top is a catwalk that was precisely engineered to connect both buildings with almost no elevation change.
