Project type
Kitchen and Bath Remodel
On this project, we worked with the homeowners to make sure that would be the last home they ever lived in (assuming they had a choice)! We were lucky enough to have the house vacant while we renovated the space. We started with mechanicals by replacing all the water lines in the whole house with copper, to get rid of old rusted galvanized pipes. Then we focused our attention on the kitchen and bathroom. The homeowners love to cook, and they wanted to make sure that not only was the kitchen the most beautiful room in the house, but functioned amazing for actually being used as a kitchen and for baking. We removed a wall to create an open concept look, and used Soapstone countertops along the perimeter to create a beautiful surface that is also resistant to heat (hop pots, pans, etc.). Then came all the amazing tile work. All the tile on the project is hand-glazed and fired in the Bay Area, and each tile has a unique look and slight size variations. Because of this, all likes had to be laid by hand, using an experienced eye to make sure everything fit well. Then of course, all the fixtures and finishes were specified to be beautiful and durable, including Toto toilets, Hansgrohe shower valves, and SubZero fridge/freezer combo, just to name a few.
