After working on an ADU next door, we met with the homeowner and talked about doing a large kitchen remodel for them too.
The existing house was mostly original from the 1940's, and could use some updating. Like most older homes, the kitchen layout was closed off, and the range was not in a great location. After looking at what walls were load bearing and deciding how to replace them, we came up with a plan to remove multiple walls between the kitchen and living room. This included a new footing and two new flush-mounted ceiling beams. To create more room in the kitchen, we also moved the washer and dryer out of the house and into the attached garage. We installed all new cabinetry with custom touches like a trash cabinet and pull out drawers in a full height pantry. The homeowners were able to move out of the house during construction, which then gave us the ability to install new flooring, baseboard and paint in the entire house. The new space will be much more functional for their family and will bring mor opportunities to entertain and spend comfortable nights at home.
